The picturesque St. Croix River Valley is tucked between Minnesota & Wisconsin. Bluffs surround this scenic valley on both sides making it an excellent destination for those who want to escape the everyday routine. A leisurely drive south along the river to Red Wing and Lake City makes for a pleasant day with many opportunities to sight see and to stop for coffee or shopping. Then cross over into Wisconsin and enjoy the scenery from that side of the river. Or go north to Taylors Falls. The St. Croix River Valley is a "feast for the eyes" at any time of the year.

One of the quaint cities along the way is Stillwater, known as the "birthplace" of Minnesota. This city is a popular place to spend a day antiquing, or sitting in Lowell Park (or Pioneer Park on a bluff overlooking the town and river) watching the boats and the old lift bridge and having dinner at one of the many eateries.
